The Brief
For the press conference of IFA Berlin where they would announce their 2026 program, 3AM:ENERGY was tasked with recommending an artist that would encapsulate IFA's focus on innovation, technology, and art. The piece should also mark a collaboration between IFA and Berlin New Media Week. The work would be installed at The Futurium, and could involve audience interaction.
We of course thought of Quadrature and their work titled SCOPE - Space Craft Oracle for Personal Enlightenment. SCOPE is an extraordinary immersive experience for one where a participant can receive their own horoscope as told by satellites and space crafts.
Quadrature proposes a new divinatory science for the upcoming technoscene, utilizing all historical satellite and space craft launches as the basis for personal birth charts. Connected to various databases, the system selects the launches around the respective birthday and feeds the associated mission metadata to an artificial intelligence generating the horoscope texts depending on the space craft’s characteristics, printed directly for the visitor to take home.

What We Did
3AM:ENERGY handled the payment terms, logistics of the arrival of the work between artist and the venue.
Through 3AM:ENERGY's mentorship program, we also matched an emerging artist with a paid opportunity to work with Quadrature to assist with setup, understanding the work on a technically level as well so that in the future SCOPE could be installed without the artists' present.
